Dear Church,
When Israel gathered together to worship the Lord at the temple in Jerusalem, the choir would sing songs and the people of God would sing along. One of the songs the choir sang was Psalm 85.
The writer of Psalm 85 wrote,
"Will you not revive* us again, that your people may rejoice in you?" (Psalm 85:6 ESV)
*Revive, "to renew, bring back, or restore life"
This is a good question, a good prayer to pray.
The people of God sang to God, knowing they desperately needed new life.
They sang to God, knowing that He was the only one who could revive them.
They sang to God, longing for Him to be their joy.
They didn't demand revival here and now.
They didn't try to manufacture revival either.
They prayed to the one who can and does give new and abundant life.
What about you, what are you longing and praying for?
Do you long and pray for the LORD to be the joy and life of the church in Cardston?
As you pray...
Serve the Lord faithfully where He has placed you
Leave the results to him
Remember that the Lord does indeed revive His people in His way and in His time.
In Christ's Service,
