WHO WE ARE

 

Christ Community Fellowship (CCF) is a gathering of Christ-followers local to the Cardston area. As a church, we are committed to the apostle's teaching, prayer, fellowship, and the breaking of bread (Acts 2:42). Our mission is to know Christ and make him known. Our vision is to see Christ magnified in Cardston and around the globe. CCF is affiliated with Village Missions Canada - Preaching the word and Loving the people of rural Canada.

OUR VISION

 

In everything we do, our aim is to be a Kingdom-minded church.

As Village Missions Canada Executive Director Guy Shields recently shared,

​

“We exist for the purpose of Pursuing the advance of Christ’s Kingdom in small town and rural Canada… This is really what we mean when we say that, as a Mission, our purpose is “Helping Country Churches Thrive.”

A thriving church is a church that is actively pursuing and progressing towards conformity to Christ.  In other words, a thriving church is a church in which the rule of Christ in the hearts of the people is growing, so that, more and more, they are becoming an assembly of loyal subjects rendering ever further, fuller, firmer service to Christ the King and, as loyal subjects, devoted to the honor of their King, they are carrying the life-giving gospel of the Kingdom out into their community and beyond. Essentially, a thriving church is church in which the Kingdom of Christ is extending, both in it and through it. Village Missions exists to help churches BE these kind of churches.

This language of Pursuing the Advance of Christ’s Kingdom is important because it more specifically defines what we are about.  It is also important because it ties our mission directly to the language of the Lord Jesus Himself. In particular, to the commission that He gave to His Apostles as He anticipated His return to the Father. And specifically, to the statement He made concerning Himself.”

OUR HISTORY

Dave and Alice Dehaan started a Bible study in the summer of 1994 and this group of spiritually hungry people began regularly worshipping together in September of that same year. Later in March of 2008, this group became a part of The Fellowship of Evangelical Baptist Churches in Canada. Then, in June of 2009, Dave and Alice Dehaan retired and several pastors in the area began filling in as they were able. After struggling for ten years without a full-time minister an organization called Village Missions sent a young pastor and his wife, Matthew & Shanay Deneault, to our church in September of 2019. Village Missions is dedicated to sending missionaries across rural North America – preaching the word and loving the people wherever they go. Shortly after partnering with Village Missions the members of Cardston Baptist Church decided to change its name to Christ Community Fellowship to reflect our Commitment first to Christ and second to the Community that is found in the fellowship of those who worship Christ as Lord and God. The name was officially changed on September 28, 2021. We come from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and places, but we have the same Lord and in Him we are bound together here in the Cardston Community.
